… for a new culture of Pentecost                                                May 22-31, 2009

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

“Oh, if only…unanimous and fervent prayers could be raised to Heaven in every part of Christendom as they were one in the Cenacle (upper room) of Jerusalem for a rekindling of the Divine Spirit.”   Bl. Elena Guerra

Imagine what would happen if “unanimous and fervent prayers” were raised in every time zone in the world for nine days!

Imagine what would happen if we witnessed to the power of the Holy Spirit in every part of the world throughout the 24 hours of

                                               Pentecost Sunday!

Imagine what God could do if we united in prayer and celebration for a fresh outpouring of the Holy Spirit on our world!

Imagine our world transformed!

Part 1 - Together We Pray!

Operation Upper Room

May 22-30, 2009

“Operation Upper Room” is a concerted initiative of prayer during the nine days between Ascension Thursday and Pentecost Sunday.   It is a return to the Upper Room, to intercede with Mary and the disciples for the rekindling of the grace of the first Pentecost, rediscovering the life and the gifts of the Holy Spirit, whose original source is Pentecost.

Intercessors who participate in the Pentecost of the Nations will be linking together in a variety of Upper Room events organized by Prayer Groups, Communities and Individuals.   Individuals can also make a commitment to pray a novena to the Holy Spirit for the specified intentions of Pentecost of the Nations.  [See 2009 Intentions listed below.]  One suggested novena format is the Burning Bush Novena. www.burningbushinitiative.com

Intercessors will be united together weaving a dense global “net” of prayer which will be continuous, night and day, during the nine days before Pentecost (on national, regional and local levels). If you are making a commitment to pray a Novena to the Holy Spirit, and/or if you are planning a prayer event for your diocese, group or community, register with Kathleen Haner, NSC Coordinator, USA, for Operation Upper Room at usintercessorsnetwork@ clearwire.net , phone (360) 871-2350. (Link to USA Registration Form)  All the information for the various USA individuals and groups who are participating will be collected and registered all together with the ICCRS Coordinator.

There is no mandatory structure for Pentecost of the Nations prayer nets or events – all are free to utilize whatever prayers and events are familiar and fruitful to you as an individual, group or community.  Suggestions for a variety of options of Operation Upper Room events are outlined below.

Part 2 - Together We Celebrate!

Pentecost Celebrations

Special events will be organized by communities and groups throughout the nation and the world, each testifying to the “spirituality of Pentecost” as part of the great Charismatic family. There is no mandatory structure for Pentecost Celebrations – all are free to utilize whatever prayers and events are familiar and fruitful with your group or community.  Here are some suggestions for planning a Pentecost Celebration:

Your video clip is to be recorded at the beginning of your celebration, and is to contain: a 3-minute video clip of greetings to the other nations and a short presentation of your event.
