Jim Archer has been involved in the Catholic Charismatic Renewal since 1975 when he was baptized in the Holy Spirit. Jim’s life was forever changed that day as the unconditional love of God was poured into his heart. Jim has served the Lord since out of gratitude in what he refers to as, “His heart Ministries” (formed by the heart of God to present His Heart!). Presently he is a member of the Pastoral Service Team for the renewal in West Virginia. He was on the NSC Council from March 2008 until he was elected to the National Service Committee in January 2011.
Jim was born and raised in Brooklyn NY and moved his family to West Virginia in 1991 accepting a position with the Grumman Aerospace Corporation as Plant Manager of their newly constructed assembly plant. He is presently unemployed due to downsizing. He lives with his son Andrew in Bridgeport and they are members of All Saints parish.
Jim remains open to the love of the Father being poured out through the Holy Spirit revealing Jesus, and hopes to be continually transformed, becoming a conduit of His love to the world! (updated 10/2011)
Jane Barz is a member of Holy Rosary Parish in Tripp, SD and has been in the Renewal since 1992. She has been a leader in her prayer group; serves as the Liaison for Charismatic Renewal in the Diocese of Sioux Falls and serves on the Steering Committee for the Association of Diocesan Liaisons. Jane serves in full time ministry with “the Matthew Ministry”, a ministry of inner healing started in 2001. Through the years Jane has been active in parish life serving on the parish council, as Director of Religious Education and music ministry at the parish level. She has played an active role in Days of Renewal, Leaders’ Retreat, Inner Healing Retreat, Conferences and various workshops and events. She was elected to the National Service Committee in January, 2009. Jane and her husband Dave have been married since 1974. They have 4 adult children and 7 grandchildren. (updated 10/2011)
Johnny Bertucci lives in the New Orleans area and has been involved in Catholic Charismatic Renewal since 1979 when, as a teenager, he was baptized in the Holy Spirit. Since that time, he has led parish-based prayer meetings for adults, young adults, and teenagers. He serves on the Steering Committee for the Southern Regional Conference of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal. He also coordinated the Catholic Charismatic Renewal of New Orleans' Annual Teen and Young Adult Retreat.
Johnny has been married to Leslie since 1985 and they homeschool their five children. God has blessed the entire family with the gift of music which they share at prayer meetings, conferences, Masses, and other venues. Johnny is president of both Bertucci Incorporated, a software development company, and RowLogic, a petroleum marketing software services company.

Caroline Gambale-Dirkes, an Italian New Yorker, is a dynamic and passionate evangelist. Her motto is that “you need to do the ridiculous to see the miraculous!” She has been active in evangelization and youth ministry for 17 years. She works as the Director of Evangelization at St. Joseph’s Parish in Hillsborough, NJ and the Area Coordinator for Life Teen in New Jersey and Eastern, PA. She has spoken internationally at numerous diocesan events, retreats, and national conferences. Caroline and her husband Dan are the founders of 2Tim4.com Ministries, which seeks to do direct evangelization through retreats, multigenerational Life in the Spirit Seminars, and parish missions as well as provide training seminars to budding evangelists on how to effectively proclaim the Gospel today.
Caroline is the mother of two beautiful children and is soon expecting their third child. She was elected to the NSC in 2007 and reelected in 2010. (updated 10/2011)
Jane Guenther was introduced to the Charismatic Renewal in 1977 at Arrowhead Stadium while a freshman studying architecture at the University of Kansas. Upon completion of her degree, she was thrust into a life in ministry as a Catholic school teacher, youth minister, and religion teacher. She married John Guenther in 1980 and they have four sons. Jane became active in the Renewal in 1992 through her involvement in the St. Louis Archdiocese healing ministry. She worked at St. Alban Roe Parish as a Liturgist and Pastoral Associate. Jane acquired her Masters in Divinity in 2005 and is currently serving the Archdiocese of St. Louis as the Coordinator of the Catholic Renewal Center. She was elected to the NSC in 2009. Deacon Daniel Guinaugh is the Diocesan Liaison to the Bishop for the Catholic Renewal in the Diocese of Honolulu (State of Hawaii); and serves as a deacon at Holy Trinity Church in Honolulu. Dan has been married to Rita since 1966; they have two children and five grandchildren.
Dan has been a member of the NSC Council since 2007 and was recently elected to the NSC in April 2011. Dan and Rita share in all their ministries together and are active in the renewal in Hawaii, serving as chair of Hawaii Catholic Charismatic Renewal Services (HCCRS); Marriage Family Forum (MFF); E Pula Kakaou (Let us pray together); and are both presently active in the National leadership of the Renewal through the NSC and NSC Council.
One of Dan’s strengths is being a facilitator, and empowering leaders and people to not only hear God’s voice but to do the work that the Lord has for them. Dan has a full time job and believes in taking Jesus to the workplace to be present to all in our words and actions. “The joy of the Lord is my strength.” (updated 10/2011)
Rev. Robert (Bob) Hogan, BBD is one of the founding members of a new charismatic and Marian religious community called The Brothers of the Beloved Disciple. He was formerly a member of the Society of Mary. He holds a Master of Divinity, an MA in Theology and did doctoral studies in Marian Theology.
He became involved in the Catholic Charismatic Renewal in1970 while in high school. He was ordained to the priesthood in 1983.
He was Archdiocesan Liaison for the Catholic Charismatic Renewal in Cincinnati from 1989-1996. From 2000-2006 he served as Pastor of St. Mary Magdelen Church in San Antonio.
He still helps at the parish, but his main ministry is at the Catholic Center for Charismatic Renewal in San Antonio where he is the Coordinator of Teaching and Outreach.
He was a member of the NSC's Advisory Committee from 1992 - 1996. He was elected to the Service Committee in January 2007 and was reelected in 2010. He was elected Chairperson in January 2011. (updated 10/2011)
Chuck Hornsby is a native of San Antonio, Texas, who moved to Georgia and joined the Alleluia Covenant Community in Augusta in 1976. Chuck has worked as a teacher of the deaf, having taught in the poverty-stricken districts of San Antonio. He has served as a lay pastor, administrator and head of finances for the Alleluia Community, and presently serves as the Community's Pastoral Coordinator and School Superintendent. He was a member of the NSC Council from 2000-2003.He was elected to the NSC in 2003. He was reelected in 2006 and 2009. Chuck and his wife, Peggy, have been married since 1978. They have three adult children and 4 grandchildren. (updated 10/2011)
Gerry Mader has been serving the Catholic Charismatic Renewal for the past 35 years. He and his wife, Lois, moved to Florida as full time residents in 2002. Gerry serves in the Venice Diocese as Chairman of Charismatic Renewal Commission. Gerry and Lois have helped develop days of renewal and activities to build up prayer groups and their leaders. Gerry has helped organize bilingual (English-Spanish) area prayer meetings and is involved in retreats with all age groups. From 1978 until 2002 Gerry was an active leader in the Archdiocese of Milwaukee including serving as Associate Liaison to the Catholic Charismatic Renewal. Gerry is the Development Manager for the NSC/Chariscenter part-time. Prior to his election to the National Service Committee, Gerry served on the NSC Council and its predecessor, the Advisory CommitteeHe was reelected to the NSC 2008 and 2011. Gerry has been a featured speaker at many conferences and has taught in over 50 Life in the Spirit Seminars. Gerry and Lois have five children and six grandchildren. (updated 10/2011)
Tammie Stevens first experienced baptism in the Holy Spirit as a teenager in 1985. Soon after she became active in leading Youth in the Spirit retreats in the Seattle area and served one year on a traveling team with REACH Youth Ministries. She has served as a prayer group leader, Youth Ministry Team Core member, and Western Washington Catholic Charismatic Renewal (WWCCR) conference coordinator and is most often involved in music ministry, leading worship at Healing Masses, retreats and other events. She currently works at WWCCR office. She is a parishioner at Blessed Sacrament Church in Seattle, WA. She was elected to the National Service Committee January 2011. (updated 10/2011)
Walter Matthews has been Executive Director for the National Service Committee of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal of the United States since January 1993. He began working for the National Service Committee as Associate Director in May 1984. He has been involved in the Catholic Charismatic Renewal since January 1972 and has served in various leadership positions in the Renewal for over 35 years.
In April 1990 Pope John Paul II appointed Matthews to a five-year term as a member of the Pontifical Council for the Laity. The department is at the direct service of the Pope. His term, which had been extended one year, ended in April 1996. He has also served as an Advisor to the U.S. Bishops’ Committee on the Laity.
He is a native of New York City and is married to the former Claire Casey. The Matthews have three adult children and live in Locust Grove, Virginia.
