Arlene Apone has been active in the Catholic Charismatic Renewal for over 35 years. She is the associate liaison for the Renewal to the Archdiocese of Detroit, and the director of the Detroit Catholic Charismatic Renewal Center. Arlene attended Madonna University and Sacred Heart Seminary, pursuing degrees in in religious eduction.She is also certified in pastoral ministry. Mrs. Apone is a teacher and has published five books. Most recently, Arlene spearheaded the publishing of a bible study, entitled Paul's Letter to the Romans, written by members who participated in the Holy Spirit Institute under Arlene's direction. Mrs. Apone also serves as a conference speaker and retreat director. She has served as a past chairperson of the Asssociation of Diocesan Liaisons to the Catholic Charismatic Renewal and served as a member of the Council. Arlene is a widow, has six children and eighteen grandchildren.

Johnny Bertucci lives in the New Orleans area and has been involved in Catholic Charismatic Renewal since 1979 when, as a teenager, he was baptized in the Holy Spirit. Since that time, he has led parish-based prayer meetings for adults, young adults, and teenagers. He serves on the Steering Committee for the Southern Regional Conference of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal. He also coordinated the Catholic Charismatic Renewal of New Orleans’ Annual Teen and Young Adult Retreat. He was elected to the National Service Committee in January.

 

Johnny has been married to Leslie for the past 23 years and they homeschool their five children. God has blessed the entire family with the gift of music which they share at prayer meetings, conferences, Masses, and other venues. Johnny is president of both Bertucci Incorporated, a software development company, and RowLogic, a petroleum marketing software services company.

 

Bishop Michael Burbidge was born in 1957, in Philadelphia, PA, the second son of Francis and Shirley Burbidge. He was ordained a priest of the Archdiocese of Philadephia by John Cardinal Krol in 1984.

Bishop Burbidge holds a B.A. in Philosophy and an M.A. in Theology from St. Charles Borromeo, an M.A. in Education Administration from Villanova University, and a doctorate in Education from Immaculata College.

Fr. Michael Burbidge's  priestly assignments include parish work, teaching in high schools and St. Charles Borromeo Seminary, where he also served as Dean of Students, and also as, Administrative Secretary to Anthony Cardinal Bevilacqua. In 1998 he was made a Monsignor.

Monsignor Burbidge was appointed Rector of St. Charles Borromeo Seminary in 1999. In 2002 he was ordained an auxiliary bishop of Philadelphia.

On June 8, 2006, Pope Benedict XVI named Bishop Burbidge the fifth Bishop of the Diocese of Raleigh; he was installed in Raleigh on Aug. 4, 2006.

Jane Guenther was introduced to the Charismatic Renewal in 1977 at Arrowhead Stadium while a freshman studying architecture at the University of Kansas.  Upon completion of her degree, she was thrust into a life in ministry as a Catholic school teacher, youth minister, and religion teacher.  She married John Guenther in 1980 and they have four sons.  Jane became active in the Renewal in 1992 through her involvement in the St. Louis Archdiocese healing ministry.  She worked at St. Alban Roe Parish as a Liturgist and Pastoral Associate.  Jane acquired her Masters in Divinity in 2005 and is currently serving the Archdiocese of St. Louis as the Coordinator of the Catholic Renewal Center. She was elected to the National Service Committee in January.
Brent Heiser is a former business owner who converted to the Catholic faith in 1990. In 1995 he entered into ministry full time, co-founding the Good News School of Evangelization. Brent serves as president of Good News Ministries of North Carolina, and Country Coordinator for Renewal Ministries missions in Ghana, West Africa. He has traveled in the United States, Ireland, Africa and Central America conducting over 300 parish missions including schools of evangelization, conferences, and retreats. He and his wife Kathy have four children and six grand children. They live in Durham, NC.
Fr. Bob Hogan, BBD is one of the founding members of a new charismatic and Marian religious community called The Brothers of the Beloved Disciple. He was formerly a member of the Society of Mary. He holds a Master of Divinity, an MA in Theology and did doctoral studies in Marian Theology. He became involved in the Catholic Charismatic Renewal in 1970 while in high school. He was ordained to the priesthood in 1983. He was Archdiocesan Liaison for the Catholic Charismatic Renewal in Cincinnati from 1989 – 1996. From 2000 – 2006 he served as Pastor of St. Mary Magdalen Church in San Antonio. He currently serves as Parochial Vicar there and is also working in the Renewal in the Archdiocese of San Antonio. He was a member of the NSC’s Advisory Committee from 1992 – 1996. He was elected to the Service Committee in January 2007.

Chuck Hornsby is a native of San Antonio, Texas, who moved to Georgia and joined the Alleluia Covenant Community in Augusta in 1976. Chuck has worked as a teacher of the deaf, having taught in the poverty-stricken districts of San Antonio. He has served as a lay pastor, administrator and head of finances for the Alleluia Community, and presently serves as the Community's Pastoral Coordinator and School Superintendent. He was been a member of the NSC Council, when he was elected to the NSC in 2003. He was reelected in 2006 and this January. Chuck and his wife, Peggy, have been married since 1978. They have three adult children and 4 grandchildren

Judith Hughes, Co-Director of Spiritual Renewal Services for the Diocese of Norwich, Connecticut, has been involved in charismatic renewal for over 25 years. She co-founded the Heart of God House of Prayer in Old Saybrook and the Renewal and Prayer Center in Norwich. Judith is an active member of Isaiah Ministries, an international ministry, and a member of the Association of Christian Therapists. Judith is a member of the Association of Diocesan Liaisons and served as Chairperson of their Steering Committee. Judith was elected to the National Service Committee in 2005 and reelected in 2008. Mrs. Hughes is a widow, a mother of three children, and a proud grandmother of five
Fr. Richard Loch was ordained a priest for the Diocese of Scranton in 1979. He is currently serving as Episcopal Vicar for Priests. Fr. Loch became involved in the Charismatic Renewal in 1972 and has participated in numerous prayer groups, Days of Renewal, Retreat Weekends and Conferences. Since 1985 he has been Moderator of the Charismatic Renewal in the Diocese of Scranton and Liaison to the Bishop. Fr. Loch was on the Steering Committee of the Association of Diocesan Liaisons from 1995 through 2001, including being Chairman from 1998 through 2001. In January 2002 Fr. Loch was elected to the National Service Committee. He was re-elected in January 2005 and again in 2008. This past January he was elected chairman of the NSC.

Ralph Martin has been a leader in renewal movements in the Catholic Church for many years. After graduating from the University of Notre Dame, he did graduate work in philosophy at Princeton University and holds an MA in Theology, from Sacred Heart School of Theology in the Archdiocese of  Detroit. He was the founding editor of New Covenant  Magazine, as well as the founding director of the International Catholic Charismatic Renewal Office, currently located in Rome.

Ralph is the Director of Graduate Theology Programs in Evangelization and an assistant professor of theology at Sacred Heart Major Seminary in the Archdiocese of Detroit.

Ralph is also president of Renewal Ministries (www.renewalministries.net), an organization devoted to Catholic renewal and evangelization. Renewal Ministries is the sponsor of “The Choices We Face” a widely viewed weekly Catholic television and radio program distributed throughout the world. Renewal Ministries is also actively involved in assisting the Church in Eastern Europe, Africa, and various other places through leadership training, evangelistic conferences and retreats, and the publication and distribution of literature.

He is the author of a number of books the most recent of which is The Fulfillment of All Desire: A Guidebook for the Journey to God Based on the Wisdom of the Saints. He  has also developed a number of  CD audio albums making accessible the teaching of Doctors of the Church in the area of growth in union with God. He and his wife Anne are parents of six children and reside in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

Dr. William Mitchell is a Primary Care physician with the Veterans Health Administration. Currently, he works in the Southeast Louisiana Veterans Health Care System (SLVHCS) and is stationed in Baton Rouge, LA. On January 1,1982, he had a “Damascus Road” type encounter with Jesus and accepted Jesus as his personal Savior and Lord and was baptized  in the Holy Spirit. Following his profound conversion experience he has regularly prayed for the sick. During this time he has seen Jesus do numerous healings and other signs and wonders for His people. Since 1982, he has served as a prayer group leader, and serves on the Steering Committee for the Southern Regional Conference. Dr. Mitchell is a speaker at conferences, retreats, healing services, days of renewal, and life in the Spirit seminars.

Dr. Mitchell has been married to his wife, Dolores for 36 years. They have 6 children and 6 grandchildren.

Mark Nimo comes from Ghana in West Africa. He had a profound conversion experience at the age of twenty through the Catholic Charismatic Renewal. His passion fdor the Lord took him to Uganda, East Africa where he served as a lay missionary for two years. For ten years, he served as the ICCRS representative for Anglophone Africa. He has ministried in over 35 countries.
Aggie Neck was baptized in the Holy Spirit in March 1972. She served as a member of the National Service Committee from 1999 to 2009 and as Chairman for seven of those years. She currently is on the Council to the National Service Committee. Aggie has been in full time ministry since 1989 as a director of Servant House, a Catholic Charismatic House of Prayer in Marksville, LA. She and her husband Clyde have three children and four grandchildren. Conference speaker, teacher, member of the Southern Regional Conference Steering Committee in New Orleans and the Diocesan Service Committee in the Alexandria Diocese keep her in touch with the Renewal on many levels.

David Thorp lives with his wife, Barbara in the Boston area. They are parents of three children and have two granddaughters. David is a graduate of Boston College and Princeton Theological Seminary.

 

Since 1979 David has worked as a lay minister in the Catholic Church.  He has been a lecturer in theology at colleges in the Boston area.  He has spoken at conferences, preached retreats and parish missions and been involved in missionary activity throughout the United States, Canada, and Europe. David is the former director of Charismatic Renewal Services and of the Office for Evangelization for the Archdiocese of Boston. Currently he is on the staff of the Spiritual Life Center of Marian Community, a Catholic lay community based in Medway.

 

Involved in the Catholic Charismatic Renewal since 1971 David served as a member of the National Service Committee in the United States and of the Council for the International Catholic Charismatic Renewal Services.
