The International Catholic Charismatic Renewal Services was first formed in the mid-seventies as the International Communications Office. Later the office moved to Brussels. When it moved to Rome, the name was changed to International Catholic Charismatic Renewal Office.

In 1992 the name was again changed to International Catholic Charismatic Renewal Services to reflect the activity which the Council performs on the international level.

In a decree dated September 14, 1993, the Pontifical Council for the Laity granted official recognition of ICCRS as a body organized “for the promotion of Catholic Charismatic Renewal with a juridical personality, corresponding to a private association of the faithful.”

According to the information on the website of the ICCRS office in Rome (www.iccrs.org) the Catholic Charismatic Renewal now exists in 238 countries throughout the world.

ICCRS maintains a listing of international Catholic Charismatic groups and links to their respective websites. To contact ICCRS or to access links to other worldwide Renewal groups CLICK HERE.
