In this Year of Mission in Mercy in preparation for the Catholic Charismatic Renewal’s 50th Anniversary Jubilee in 2017, the National Service Committee has sought to identify and hereby acknowledges those individuals, couples and ministries birthed in the outpouring of the Holy Spirit in our day serving in the mission of the New Evangelization. Click here for list. Each of them is rooted in the grace of baptism in the Holy Spirit and have answered the call to serve as “Spirit-filled evangelizers” (in the phrase of Pope Francis) which “means evangelizers fearlessly open to the working of the Holy Spirit.” (Evangelii Gaudium, 259)

It is not possible for us to highlight all the many individuals, couples, and ministries of Spirit-filled evangelization in parishes and particular (Arch)dioceses across the country, such as those of Prayer Groups, Covenent Communities and Renewal Centers.  Our list focuses on those who minister in more than one (Arch)diocese, or who travel far and wide, whether in person or through media.  We recognize that we have no doubt missed many such persons and ministries and would like your help in identifying such.  Please send an email to chariscenterusa@nsc-chariscenter.org with names and contact information.

All of this information is also available on our Renewal Contacts Database where you can search for Evangelization Ministries.

From the beginning of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal in 1967 this outpouring of the Holy Spirit has empowered millions of Catholics and others to be witnesses in the power of the Spitit (see Acts 1:8f).  Spirit-filled evangelizers are those who have responded to the Lord in a special way and have been empowered with the charism of evangelization to go forth with boldness and in new ways.

Let us continue to pray for the outpouring of the Holy Spirit in our day and, especially, for these men and women and ministries – and all those others unknown to us – who preach the Lordship of Jesus and the love of the Father in the power of the Holy Spirit.

In the words of Pope Francis, “A spirit-filled evangelization is one guided by the Holy Spirit, for he is the soul of the Church called to proclaim the Gospel…I once more invoke the Holy Spirit.  I implore him to come and renew the Church, to stir and impel her to go forth boldly to evangelize all peoples.” (Evangelii Gaudium, 261)

Come Holy Spirit, come!
